The Inov-8 High Cup Nick race starts and finishes on Dufton Village green outside the Youth Hostel and comprises a figure of 8 circuit taking runners to an amazing view point of High Cup before taking them up it to return along the Pennine Way.
This race is a major fund raiser for the Village Hall, however there are still prizes to be won with main prizes being provided by title sponsors Inov-8.
The route has been devised and the race is organised by previous British Fell Running champion Morgan Donnelly, and typically sees upwards of 200 entrants.
Before the main event there are several races for the kids in the woods and fields adjacent to the village, all with an infamous up hill finish!
The race is also famous for the homemade cakes that are on sale, plus the soup which is included in the race fee.
Dufton is a small classically featured Eden Village and its population quadruples on the day of the race, with most of the locals helping with the race in some form or another, this combines to give a unique atmosphere on the day. Come and be a part of it, even if you are not running…………………..
